Chaperone Awareness

Overview

This short course provides learners with an overview of the role of chaperones in general practice. The course explains when and why a chaperone is needed, as well as explaining the responsibilities of the chaperone.

Objectives

1. Understand the significance of chaperones in general practice 2. Appreciate why chaperones must be trained for their role 3. Learn the rights of the patient in relation to examinations and chaperones 4. Understand the importance of accurate record-keeping 5. Understand the role of the chaperone during a consultation
