PRACTICE ASSESSORS & SUPERVISORS
Supporting Multi-Professional Learning Environments
The expansion of multi-professional placements across Primary Care cannot be undertaken in isolation and must consider the wider learning environment in which training take place.
In addition, it requires a local reframing of the traditional narrative around placements being practice based, to one which considers the learning environment. This is made up of not only practices, but Primary Care Networks (PCNs) and Integrated Care Systems (ICS).
The application of new language incorporates a move away from the use of the title nurse mentor to 'Practice Assessor' and 'Practice Supervisor', which considers the wider, multi-professional workforce.
One of the key objectives for Training Hubs is to support the expansion of multi-professional placements across primary care to create innovative and high- quality clinical placements for all learners.
