PLACEMENT CAPACITY

Supporting Multi-Professional Learning Environments

The SWL Training Hubs recognise that the future primary care workforce is dependent on trainees of today having high-quality, multi-professional training within primary care.

This requires a local reframing of multi-professional placements within a context of the learning environment which includes not only practices, but Primary Care Networks (PCNs) and Integrated Care Systems (ICS). It requires the application of new language to incorporate Education Assessors and Supervisors, who support a wider, multi-professional trainee workforce.

The SWL placement capacity programme seeks to develop the expansion of multi-professional placements across the region to create innovative and high- quality clinical placements for all learners, in line with the Long Term Plan; maximising the effective use of educational resources across the network.
