Before the training

Access the training using a suitable mobile or desktop device with a camera and audio.

Many people find a headset or headphones useful to help them hear properly.

Sit somewhere quiet away from noise and distractions so you can focus on the learning.

Avoid interruptions using Out of Office or Do Not Disturb notifications.

Give yourself plenty of time to set up the space, device and join the meeting.

Come prepared - bring paper and pen, coffee, bottle of water.

Think about why you are attending the session and what you'd like to get from it.

Do be prepared to introduce yourself to the group at the start of the session.

Add your mobile phone number to the Zoom chat if you think you will have a poor connection or other problem where the trainer may need to contact you.

During the training

Stay aware of relevant health and safety procedures where you are, for example fire alarms or tests if at work.

Aim to keep your camera on so people can see you and enjoy your input to the session.

Try muting your audio throughout the session, this helps people who are talking to be more easily heard.

Avoid multi-tasking during the session, it can be a distraction and annoyance to other participants

Please participate! Just like a face-to-face training course, it's more fun if you speak up and get involved. Don’t worry about making a mistake, that's what training is all about!

Ask questions during the session or save them to the end.

Natural Breaks and Comfort

We'll take a break or two during the session, but feel free to take a break whenever you need to move, stretch or use the bathroom. Mute your audio and video if you need to.

Make yourself comfortable, grab an extra cushion or blanket, open or close the window.
